Local-first

Session history, approvals, plans, and audit logs stay local to your machine or workspace database. Harper does not need its own telemetry backend to function.

Provider traffic

If you use a hosted provider, requests go directly from your machine to that provider, such as OpenAI, Sambanova, Gemini, or Cerebras. Review the provider's own retention and privacy terms before using it with sensitive material.

Offline mode

Ollama keeps prompts entirely on-device. No network requests.
